- I cannot withhold the cold. / 1383. - I will not carry for you until you shackle me. / 1044. - Do not weep! - O Aba Ahmad! Indeed the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) dislikes that you take back anything of your wealth that was lost/taken from you for the sake of Allah the Almighty... / 483. - O Aba Umayyah! Lend us this weapon of yours... / 1061. - O Abu Bakr! We are few... / 393. - O Abu Dharr! Keep this matter hidden... / 384. - O Abu Dharr! I see that you are weak... / 180. - O Abu Dharr! How will you be when you see the Stones of Oil (Ahjar al-Zayt) drowned in blood? / 157. ¶

Yes.. / 780 - O Messenger of Allah! Are we not upon the truth..? He said: .. Yes! [Umar ibn al-Khattab] asked: Then why the secrecy? / 397 - O Messenger of Allah! We were in evil, then Allah brought us goodness, will there be evil after this goodness..? / 85, 118 - O Messenger of Allah! Every call has a way, there is gentleness and there is severity.. / 431 - O Messenger of Allah! Which jihad is the best? / 43 - O Messenger of Allah! Will you permit us to fight these people..? He said: I have not been commanded to fight them, then when he ﷺ migrated.. / 458 - O Messenger of Allah! Which deed is the best? He said: Prayer at its appointed time.. / 845 - O Messenger of Allah! We consider jihad to be the best of deeds, should we not perform jihad? He said: But the best jihad is an accepted Hajj (Hajj Mabrur).. / 853 - O Salamah! Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman: Enjoining good and forbidding evil is virtuous, but it is not from the Sunnah to brandish weapons against your leader (Amir)! ¶

Abu Bakr al-Siddiq: The Arabs do not recognize this matter (governance, authority, caliphate) except for this clan of Quraish. ¶

Abdullah ibn Abbas: If a man flees (in battle) from two (enemies), then he has fled (this is the prohibited flight); but if he flees from three, he has not fled (he does not incur sin for his retreat). ¶

Anas ibn Malik: A man would embrace Islam desiring nothing but the world! Yet he would remain [in the faith] until Islam became more beloved to him than the world and all that is in it. ¶

Abdullah ibn Mas'ud: We have been forbidden from espionage, but if something becomes apparent to us, we act upon it. ¶

Hasan al-Basri (to Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz, when asked about why Muslims permitted the Magians to marry their mothers and daughters): I am only a follower and not an innovator; peace be upon you. ¶

Ali ibn Abi Talib: They only paid the Jizyah so that their blood would be like our blood and their wealth like our wealth. ¶

Umar ibn Khattab (to Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas): I have written to you to invite the people to Islam for three days. ¶

Umar ibn Khattab: By Allah, a single Muslim is more beloved to me than all that Rome encompasses. ¶

(K) It (Ghulul - misappropriation of war booty) was frequent during the time of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) due to the large number of hypocrites and Bedouins who would fight alongside him, and they were people of Ghulul. (Umar ibn al-Khattab) ¶

When a man would embrace Islam, men would grapple with him, and they would strike one another! (Umar ibn al-Khattab) ¶

The Muslims, during wars and conquests, would not kill the merchants of the polytheists. (Jabir ibn Abdullah) ¶

(L) Do not deny them their rights, lest you become disbelievers in their eyes. (Umar ibn al-Khattab, in his testament to the governors regarding the necessary political conduct toward the subjects) ¶

We saw ourselves unable to pray at the House (Kaaba) until 'Umar embraced Islam! (Abdullah ibn Mas'ud) ¶

- It is the established Sunnah that messengers are not to be killed. (Abdullah ibn Mas'ud) - Whoever calls for his own leadership or another's without the consultation of the Muslims, it is not permissible for you not to kill him!!! (Umar ibn al-Khattab) - Fulfilling a pledge despite treachery is better than treachery in response to treachery. (The Companions of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH), on the occasion of their refusal to kill the infidel hostages held by them, in response to the infidels' killing of Muslim hostages.) - By the One in Whose hand is my soul! It does not please me that you conquer a city containing four thousand fighters at the cost of losing one Muslim man! (Umar ibn al-Khattab) - There will be leaders who will torment you, and Allah will torment them! (Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman) ¶

(A) - If the Imam of the Muslims orders that action be restricted to a specific opinion in issues where ijtihad (legal reasoning) is permissible, then adhering to his opinion becomes determined and obligatory / 105.
