Chapter 46
Page 901So that he may spend the rest of his life living off begging and soliciting. Is there anyone who will take heed and learn a lesson? ¶
Before the awakening of the Islamic Ummah at the hands of Mahmud Nur al-Din Zanki and Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi, both Shawar and Dirgham competed for the vizierate of Egypt, and each of them sought the help of the Crusaders against the other. Had God not destined Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi for Egypt, Egypt would have become like Al-Andalus or worse. During the Mamluk era, the emirs and rulers of small states were repeating the game of the 'Taifa kings' (factional rulers), seeking help from the Crusaders and the Tatars against their own brothers, and paying the price for such assistance with their dignity and the dignity of their nation. Had God not favored the Muslims with al-Muzaffar Qutuz and al-Zahir Baybars, the state of the Muslims would have been quite different without them. ¶
Some time after that, there appeared among the Muslims a creature of the Jews (Kemal Atatürk), who was the greatest model of betrayal and loyalty to the enemies. His love and loyalty to the enemies consumed his entire being, and he declared this without shame, fear, diffidence, or pretense. He declared war on Islam and the Muslims in Turkey and abroad, abolishing the Islamic Caliphate, replacing the Arabic script with the Latin alphabet, banning the Adhan in the language of the Quran, enforcing Western attire, ordering the removal of the Hijab from Muslim women, spreading vice, and declaring that he professed complete loyalty to the Judeo-Christian West, and that Turkey had no connection to Islam. ¶
This absolute loyalty to the enemies had dire and destructive consequences for Atatürk himself, as he sold his afterlife and his worldly life to the enemies of God who possessed neither benefit nor harm for him. ¶
Page 902It is a cause of harm in this world and the Hereafter, and for Turkey as a whole, because by aligning itself with the enemies of Islam, it has lost everything. It has neither preserved its religion and dignity nor has it attained the purported prosperity from the Western Crusader states; thus, it has become lost, wandering in the mazes of life to this very day. ¶
Sharif Abdullah bin Hussein bin Ali also pursued the path of allegiance to the enemies, participating in the First World War to assist the British against the Caliphate and its supporters. He did the same during the Second World War. Britain rewarded him for this by installing him as King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan (1946 AD), after he had dreamt of a vast Arab empire; his end was assassination in (1951 AD). ¶
As a result of this alliance, the Caliphate fell, the allies partitioned the Islamic lands, and the consequences included the Zionist seizure of Palestine and the colonizers' takeover of the remaining Islamic countries, which continue to suffer under the fire of colonialism and its agents. In the Shah of Iran, there is a lesson and warning for those who ally themselves with the enemies of Allah; he gave his complete loyalty to the Crusaders and the Jews, but they abandoned him and cast him aside in the end. He even stated in his memoirs, which he began publishing early in his exile: '(The American President Carter cast him out of Iran like a dead rat).' ¶
A book titled (Khomeini's Hostage), authored by Robert Carman Dreyfuss, was published, in which he disclosed detailed information regarding the involvement of the American Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in overthrowing and eliminating the Shah. ¶
Page 903Similarly, the Russians treated their allies in Afghanistan; they eliminated (Daoud Khan), (Noor Taraki), (Hafizullah Amin), and (Babrak Karmal) in the process. All of these were among those who had allied themselves with the enemies of Allah, the Soviets. Thus, Allah set the oppressors upon their followers, and Allah Almighty spoke the truth when He said: 'And so We let some of the wrongdoers rule over others because of what they used to earn' (Al-An'am: 129). ¶
The same applies to Sadat, who declared complete allegiance to the Christians in America and the Jews in Israel, turning his back on the principles of Islam and the Muslims. He sacrificed both to appease the enemies of Islam, thinking he would find honor and empowerment through the loyalty of the Jews and Christians. His expectations were disappointed, and the word of Allah Almighty proved true for him: 'Give tidings to the hypocrites that there is for them a painful punishment - those who take disbelievers as allies instead of the believers. Do they seek with them honor [power]? But indeed, honor belongs to Allah entirely' (An-Nisa: 138-139). ¶
He perished, unmourned by both enemies and friends alike, and the words of the poet rang true regarding him: He thought life was long, neither touched by misery nor interrupted. Each day brought a sinister speech, echoing threats to every ear. In an instant, his leadership fell as a corpse, while the soul within him was being torn apart. And the crime of allying with the Jews is enough; nothing can erase its shame or offer intercession. ¶
Page 904This divine law, which applies to those who take the enemies of Allah as allies, is not limited to rulers; it encompasses everyone who collaborates with the enemies of Allah, including scholars, military officials, and soldiers. Some pseudo-scholars stand with oppressive rulers, justifying their tyranny against the believers, their persecution of monotheists (Muwahhideen), and their abandonment of the Mujahideen. An example of this is the stance of Ibn Abi Du'ad, who incited the Sultan against Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal, openly demanding his blood. However, Allah suppressed his rage within his chest; he was struck with paralysis, leaving him as nothing but bones without flesh. Ibn Shara'ah al-Basri composed a poem about him, including these two verses: 'You did not fear punishment from the Lord of Heaven, and you established every form of misguidance and corruption. How many noble families you widowed, and how many scholars you bound in chains.' The cycle of fate also turned against the soldiers and henchmen of Gamal Abdel Nasser; they ended up either insane, killed, or exiled. The same fate befell the Baathists in Syria, as they turned against all those who supported them from among the Sunni Muslims, such as Nureddin al-Atassi, Salah al-Bitar, Amin al-Hafez, and others who were deceived by aligning with the disbelievers from among the Nusayris and the Crusaders. These are examples we have provided as a reminder and a lesson, to clarify the law of Allah regarding those who ally with His enemies and treat His friends with hostility, regardless of the passage of time or distance. Is there, then, anyone who will take heed and learn? ¶
Page 905Section Three: The Hereafter Punishment for Those Who Ally with the Disbelievers. Allah (Mighty and Majestic) has clarified in more than one verse the punishment in the Hereafter for those who take the disbelievers as allies, and that their recompense is Hell—an evil destination. The Almighty says: 'And the day the wrongdoer will bite on his hands [in regret] he will say, 'Oh, I wish I had taken with the Messenger a way. Oh, woe to me! I wish I had not taken that one as a friend. He led me away from the remembrance after it had come to me. And ever is Satan, to man, a deserter'' (Surah Al-Furqan: 27-29). And the Almighty says: 'The Day their faces will be turned about in the Fire, they will say, 'How we wish we had obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger.' And they will say, 'Our Lord, indeed we obeyed our masters and our dignitaries, and they led us astray from the [right] way. Our Lord, give them double the punishment and curse them with a great curse'' (Surah Al-Ahzab: 66-68). And the Almighty says: '[And they should consider that] when those who have been followed disassociate themselves from those who followed [them], and they [all] see the punishment, and cut off from them are the ties [of relationship]. Those who followed will say, 'If only we had another turn [at worldly life] so we could disassociate ourselves from them as they have disassociated themselves from us.' Thus will Allah show them their deeds as regrets upon them. And they are never to emerge from the Fire' (Surah Al-Baqarah: 166-167). ¶
Page 906It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'There are three things upon which I swear: Allah will not treat the one who has a share in Islam like the one who has no share. The shares of Islam are three: Prayer (Salah), Fasting (Sawm), and Zakat. And whoever entrusts a servant to Allah in this world, Allah will not entrust him to anyone else on the Day of Resurrection. And no man loves a people but that he will be gathered with them.' ¶
Thus, the affection of the hypocrites and apostates for their masters among the people of disbelief and misguidance will not benefit them in the least on the Day of Resurrection, for it is similar to the affection of the idolaters for their idols. Whoever takes the disbelievers as allies and shows them allegiance has taken them as idols instead of Allah. This is because of his love for them, preferring their love over the love of Allah, exalting them over the exaltation of Allah, and prioritizing their status over the status of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic. The penalty for this action is what Allah the Almighty mentioned in His saying: 'And [Abraham] said, "You have only taken, other than Allah, idols as [a bond of] affection among you in worldly life. Then on the Day of Resurrection you will deny one another and curse one another, and your refuge will be the Fire, and you will not have any helpers."' (Surah Al-Ankabut: 25). ¶
Let the one who allies himself with the disbelievers understand, awaken, and become alert to the gravity of this matter before 'a soul says, "Oh, how I regret my neglect in regard to Allah and that I was among the mockers," or says, "If only Allah had guided me, I would have been among the righteous," or says when it sees the punishment, "If only I had another turn so I could be among the doers of good."' (Surah Az-Zumar: 56-58). ¶
Will the rulers, individuals, and nations take heed of the fate that awaits those who ally themselves with the disbelievers? Let them sever their allegiance, support, and love for the disbelievers—whether they are disbelievers by origin or by apostasy—and give their allegiance to Allah, His Messenger, and the believers, as the Almighty said: 'Your ally is none but Allah and His Messenger and those who have believed - those who establish prayer and give zakah.' ¶
Page 907and who bow down [in prayer]. And whoever is an ally of Allah and His Messenger and those who have believed - indeed, the party of Allah - they are the predominant. (1) ¶
Thus, whoever replaces the allegiance to Allah, His Messenger, and the believers with allegiance to the disbelievers has become deserving of a severe warning, as indicated by the aforementioned verses. Regarding this meaning, Sheikh Salih al-Salim Al Bunyan composed verses in a poem concerning those who align themselves with the enemies of Allah, from which are the following: ¶
O you who show enmity towards the Lord and His party, And belittle the people of the religion and the religion itself, then listen! You shall surely enter a Fire that has been prepared and readied, In it, the disbelievers have a shelter and a resting place. And reconcile with the people of Islam, abandoning the speech of a hater, Who has become an enemy to you, filled with rage. (2) ¶

Page 908Chapter Four ¶
The Situation of Muslims Today Regarding Allegiance to the Believers and Hostility Toward the Disbelievers ¶
When a Muslim today attempts to study the reality of contemporary Muslims, especially concerning the subject of allegiance (al-wala) for the sake of Allah and hostility (al-bara) for His sake, he does not know where to begin or where to end. He is confronted with a painful, sorrowful, and tear-inducing reality that leaves the wise in a state of bewilderment. This is because there is no corner of the earth that does not echo with the voices of Muslims suffering under the yoke of the disbelievers or the agents of the disbelievers. ¶
I do not know, as the poet says: Where shall I begin the tale? Everything is full of grief that stirs the hidden sorrows. (1) ¶
And as another says: In every horizon, a calamity befalls Islam, before the horror of which the mountains of Radwa and Thahlan would collapse. ¶
(1) See Al-Ummah Magazine, Issue No. 11, Year 1, Dhu al-Qi'dah 1401 AH, p. 32, poem by Ma'mun Farez Jarrar. ¶
Page 909They are slaughtering, crucifying, and killing our brothers, as if all this were prepared to quench the fires of hatred. They cry out to the people of faith for help, yet on this day of terror, no helpers come to their aid. Today, there is no poet to weep, no press to report, and no messenger to care. Is this honor, or is this degradation, that there is mention of kufr (disbelief) while Islam is forgotten? ¶
The tragedies of the Muslims are too many to enumerate, and most are too well-known to need mentioning. However, it suffices to mention brief models and examples of those oppressed people whose only crime is saying, 'Our Lord is Allah.' Nevertheless, those who claim to represent Islam have abandoned them, leaving them alone between the fangs of filthy beasts in the East or the West, or handing them over to the hired butchers who act as agents for these two camps, as if this matter does not concern those who identify with Islam in the slightest. ¶
It is not easy for a Muslim to stand as a spectator while their brothers in Islam are being slaughtered like sheep. And it is not easy for a believer to witness a major power—hostile to Islam, like Communist Russia—invade a small, weak Islamic state like Afghanistan to kill its sons, tempt them away from their faith, and displace them from their homelands into flimsy camps where they lie on snow, cover themselves with the frost of the stars, and eat barely enough food. ¶
The hypocrite remains silent about this act and does not care. The disbeliever supports this act and does not care. The believer is the one who does not accept this and does not approve of injustice against anyone at all, so how could they accept it against their brothers in Islam? Have the believers in the lands of Islam been depleted, leaving behind only disbelievers and hypocrites? ¶
This is what is apparent from the state of those residing in the lands of Islam, for if it were otherwise... ¶
Page 910Conversely, if this had manifested as a practical reality—yet it has not—the hypocrites and apostate disbelievers who are tethered to the wheels of the West or the East are the ones who content themselves with servility, submission, humiliation, and abasement, for each of them is a slave to materialism and personal interest. As the Arab poet says: ¶
'None sleeps upon an injustice done to him, save for the two most humiliated things: the lifeless corpse and the tent peg. The former is bound by its rope in disgrace, and the latter is hammered in, with no one to pity it.' (1) ¶
Entering into the details of the calamities and tragedies that befall the Muslims is something that cannot be fully encompassed. We fear that if those with weak faith were to witness this, they would fall into despair and hopelessness due to the intensity of what they see and the horror of what they hear. As the poet says: ¶
'Hold onto your heart, lest it fly away in terror, and turn away from your world for a while. For the horror is overwhelming, and the truths are so bitter that they transcend description and explanation.' (2) ¶
We will attempt to briefly mention some of the lands afflicted by the domination of the disbelievers over the Muslims, and what the Muslims have offered them in accordance with the duty of 'loyalty for the sake of Allah' (al-muwalat fi-Allah) and 'enmity for the sake of Allah' (al-mu'adat fi-Allah). We will begin this based on importance, location, the extent of the tribulation, its significance, and what wisdom and prevailing circumstances permit. ¶
First: Palestine: ¶
For over three decades, the Jews have been settling in Palestine, and the territory of their state grows day by day. The wealth and blood of Islamic peoples have been violated in the name of Palestine and the liberation of Palestine, yet nothing has been achieved. This is because those who assumed leadership in the states that claim to oppose the Jews are merely puppets of the Jews; hence, they struck against Islam. ¶

It is a poetic epic of 296 verses recounting the story of torture inside the military prison in Egypt during the days of Abdel Nasser, authored by Dr. Yusuf al-Qaradawi. ¶
Page 911In their lands, they paved the way for Jewish expansion. When the Jews displaced some refugees from Palestine, how did the people of the neighboring countries receive them? The people of the countries to which they fled inflicted upon them a great massacre, the likes of which they had not received inside Israel itself. Their situation became like the one who says: 'He who seeks refuge with Umar in his time of distress, is like one who seeks refuge from the scorching heat by jumping into the fire.' King Hussein expelled them from Jordan after killing about three thousand of them. Then they went to Lebanon, where the Nusayri tyrant caught up with them and burned them at the Tall al-Za'tar camp, in an incident famous and known to everyone(1). Then, the Jews allied with the Crusaders in Lebanon against them in a war of attrition, and that war is ongoing at the time of writing this thesis. But the truth that we must not forget is that most Palestinians, especially those who lead the opposition to the Jews, deserve what has befallen them because they drifted away from the path of Allah and befriended the enemies of Allah in their beginning and end. For this reason, Allah did not grant them victory over their enemies. Despite their weakness, humiliation, and attachment to the earth, they have not learned from what has befallen them, nor have they returned to their Lord. Instead, some of them have taken a position of supporting the criminal invaders who invaded Afghanistan, to add the fall of another country to that of Palestine. Such statements were made by Yasser Abed Rabbo and Farouk Qaddumi, who are among the senior spokesmen for the Palestine Liberation Organization(2). However, this does not mean justifying the abandonment by Muslims of the cause of a Muslim people—the Palestinian people—in whom there are both the righteous and the corrupt. Our loyalty and affection must be for the people of goodness and righteousness among the Palestinians, and we must join our hands with theirs to liberate Jerusalem and the rest of the land of Islam from the Jews and the minions of the Jews in Palestine and its surroundings. (1) See page 542 of this thesis. (2) See Al-Balagh, issue (526), dated 3/9/1400 AH, p. 19. ¶
Page 912Second: Afghanistan ¶
The people of Afghanistan, as is well known, are an ancient Muslim people deeply attached to Islam. After Communism began to totter toward collapse in the Soviet Union and Poland due to food shortages and the failure of state-controlled farms and factories, and as both Turkey and Iran returned to attempting to cling to Islam, the enemies of God sensed the danger that threatened to shake the ground beneath their feet. Consequently, the Soviets resorted to attacking Afghanistan, just as the Crusaders sought to overthrow the regime in Turkey and ignite the fuse of war between Iraq and Iran. No sooner had the Russian armies entered Afghanistan through the agency of certain collaborators and traitors than the Muslim Afghan people rose up and declared jihad against the invaders. This nation reached a level of sacrifice that confirms the greatness of Islam and the superiority of the people of faith in every time and place. ¶
Despite receiving no serious support from those who should have provided it, they did not humble themselves or submit to the enemy. They sold their livestock and agricultural produce to buy ammunition, small bombs, and rifles from arms dealers who sold them at exorbitant prices. It reached the point where their women sold their jewelry to purchase weapons, and they restricted their diet to dry bread (1), all to preserve their religion and Islam. Their wounded received no form of health or medical care except on a very limited scale in Pakistan. Yet, despite all this, they did not falter, nor did they weaken because of what befell them in the cause of Allah. ¶
As for the stance of the rest of the Muslims regarding Afghanistan, we have mentioned the position of some members of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) regarding the invasion of Afghanistan and their support for it. ¶
Page 913Each of the Nusayri government of Syria, the government of Aden, Libya, and Algeria took a position supporting Karmal, the communist agent of the Soviets, against the Muslims. This position is not strange for these states, as they neither represent Islam nor truly represent their Muslim peoples. ¶
Some states affiliated with Islam maintained silence regarding this issue, forgot this people, and ignored that tragedy as if nothing of the sort had occurred. ¶
Abdul Rab Sayyaf, the official spokesperson for the Afghan Mujahideen, stated: 'The Mujahideen have not received a single penny or dirham from the governments, nor have they received a single bullet from them... Even at the media level, there is neglect and indifference toward the Afghan cause, except for what serves the Western camp in its hostility toward communism.' Abdul Rab Rasul Sayyaf visited both Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates after the Taif conference with the aim of collecting some aid for the Mujahideen, but he was ignored and received no official or media reception or welcome. This compelled him to write a letter by his own hand to the ruler of the UAE, in which he said: (Had I been at the head of a sports or musical delegation, your hospitality towards me would have reached its peak) (1). ¶
Al-Mujtama magazine commented: How can Kuwait receive a leader who represents a jihad that defeated the most powerful state in the world, a leader who represents a mujahid people, and a scholar who is among the most aware of Islam's scholars in Afghanistan, with such negligence and indifference, while this same state trembles with honor and hospitality for the poet of sexual promiscuity, Nizar Qabbani, who visited Kuwait after the visit of that giant mujahid (2). (1) See Al-Mujtama magazine (Kuwait), issue (550), 11th year, 13/1/1402 AH, p. 7. (2) Previous source, same location. ¶
Page 914What will be our excuse before Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and then before our brothers who are waging jihad against a vicious enemy that targets Islam and the Muslims, not only in Afghanistan, but across the entire Islamic region? Yet, we are stingy with them, withholding even a small amount of wealth and moral support, while the wealth of Muslims is being invested by the enemies of Islam—Jews, Crusaders, and polytheists. Are we not, through this action, abandoning ourselves and our brothers who are the first line of defense for us and for our Islam? Are the followers of Communism more loyal and supportive [of their cause] than we Muslims are [to ours]? ¶
Third: The Philippines: ¶
The Philippines is located approximately 805 kilometers off the coast of Southeast Asia and consists of 7,100 islands, the largest of which is the island of Luzon in the southern region. Its population is 46.4 million, of which 20 percent are Muslims. Islam reached it in the early 11th century AH (16th century AD). After the Philippines gained nominal independence in 1946 AD and the Islamic emirates were annexed, the enemies of Islam sought to eradicate Islam there in three stages: ¶
1. The first stage: Attempting to convert Muslims to Christianity through proselytization and deception. 2. The second stage: Attempting to corrupt Islamic society and spreading all forms of corruption and moral decay within this community. 3. The third stage: Campaigns of genocide launched by the government against the Muslims. ¶
The Muslims in the southern Philippines are subjected to the most heinous forms of injustice and tyranny; indeed, they are facing a continuous war of extermination. The Philippine government, a puppet of colonialism and an instrument for implementing its plans in Southeast Asia, is continuously... ¶
Page 915through acts of mass killing and horrific slaughters against innocent Muslims, to the point that it escalated to the destruction of Muslim villages, burning them along with their inhabitants, attacking Muslim gatherings in mosques and schools, and destroying their agricultural and livestock products. Therefore, it is incumbent upon Muslims everywhere to stand with their Muslim brothers in the Philippines and to provide them with all possible material and moral support to save Islam and the Muslims in that region. However, unfortunately, the Muslims in the Philippines do not receive material or moral support—neither at the level of the masses nor at the level of governments—except for a very small amount. This leaves them unable to mount the required defense against the Crusader Marcos’s forces, who are strongly supported by Jews and Crusaders. Some Islamic countries possess a suitable means of pressure on Marcos, which is to stop selling him the petroleum that flows from Muslim lands to serve as fuel for the planes and tanks that hunt down and kill Muslims. Shariah forbids cooperation with him in various fields as long as he fights against the people of Islam. Allah the Almighty says: 'Allah only forbids you from those who fight you because of religion and expel you from your homes and aid in your expulsion—[forbids] that you make allies of them. And whoever makes allies of them, then it is those who are the wrongdoers.' (Surah Al-Mumtahanah: 9). Fourth: Syria Muslim Syria is living through a great tragedy at the hands of the Nusayri butchers, the likes of which no Islamic country has faced even in the fiercest eras of colonialism. We have already indicated earlier (2) examples of their war against Islam and Muslims, and yet, unfortunately... ¶
Page 916The severity lies in the fact that you find countries affiliated with Islam dealing with them (the oppressors) in a normal manner, as if they had not committed any sin or perpetrated any crime, and as if the Muslim men and women who are being slaughtered morning and evening were mere livestock, unheeded and of no consequence. ¶
What has become of this strange world? Its senses have been numbed, and compassion and mercy have been severed from its heart. How can the most atrocious tragedies and bloodiest massacres occur within it, while no one is able to raise their voice to denounce this injustice against the oppressors? What shall we say to history and to future generations when they learn that bloody atrocities and heinous crimes were being committed against a believing Muslim people, while hundreds of millions of their brothers watched them being trampled underfoot? ¶
What shall we say to our Lord, who commanded us to cooperate with our brothers in His saying: {And cooperate in righteousness and piety} (1). Shall we say that we were distracted by our wealth and desires, spending thousands of millions on trivial matters and feeble causes, while our brothers everywhere are in need of every dirham to stave off the pangs of hunger, or for a garment to cover their exposed nakedness, or for a house and shelter to replace tents and the open wilderness, or for a bullet to pierce the throat of an infidel enemy targeting Islam and all Muslims? ¶
Or shall we say that we feared the domination of those people lest they expose our own flaws... (And he whose house is made of glass should not throw stones at people). The crimes of that filthy gang are beyond description and expression, and one stands in shame and dejection when belonging to a nation of such size, yet such a shameful act is committed against its children. ¶
A friend who does not avail on a day of distress is, by measure, close to an enemy. The land and those upon it have changed, as if its people are no longer human (2). ¶

Page 917Fifth: Muslims in Cambodia ¶
Dr. Ali Jarisha narrates from a student who fled communism in Cambodia that there were two million Muslims in Cambodia amidst seven million pagans. Then the communist coup occurred in 1973 AD; so what did the communists do to the Muslims? ¶
He says that communism killed two-thirds of the Muslim population. Nothing remained of the Muslims except a few thousand refugees in tents in the deserts of Thailand, suffering from poverty, hunger, nakedness, and deprivation. They face an even more severe situation: Thailand offers them to accept 'Christianization' and become Christians in order to receive aid from crusading organizations, or else return to communist Cambodia to join their brethren who were buried ten meters underground. ¶
Regarding the method of exterminating Muslims in Thailand, he stated that they task a number of men to dig a hole ten meters deep and fifty meters wide, then they throw people into it while they are still alive, and bulldozers come and pile soil over them. As for children, they have another method: they put them in reinforced nylon bags, tie the opening, bind them to tree trunks, and leave them to struggle inside until they suffocate. This is how they annihilated about one million seven hundred thousand people. ¶
It is the right of a Muslim to ask: Where are those who talk about human rights? ¶
Or is it that they only care about the Crusader, Jewish, Communist, or pagan human being, while the Muslim has no value in their eyes, and there are no mourners for him even among the claimants of Islam? ¶
Where are the Muslims? Where is the Ummah that today numbers one billion Muslims? ¶
Page 918Where is the Ummah that possesses the most important economic resources in the world? Yet, its sanctity is violated, its dignity is treated as permissible, and its enemies hold it in contempt. ¶
Sixth: Burma: The Muslims in Arakan (Burma) have faced immense oppression, terrorism, and a war of extermination. The Buddhists have killed one hundred thousand Muslims, kidnapped five thousand women, and committed indecency against no fewer than five hundred Muslim women in front of their husbands, sons, and brothers. About two hundred thousand (200,000) Muslims fled into the desert, Muslim villages were reduced to ruins, and about 15,000 of them crossed the Naf River in search of refuge in Bangladesh (1). Thus, we see these miserable Muslims, like others, without shelter, care, or protection from their Muslim brothers anywhere. ¶
Seventh: Muslims in India: Muslims in India are subjected to bitter persecution under polytheistic rule. From the year 1946 AD to 1979 AD, nine thousand five hundred and forty-two (9,542) massacres occurred against Muslims (2). These incidents claimed the lives of tens of millions of Muslims, leaving them killed, wounded, or displaced. In the year 1400 AH, cow worshippers unleashed a group of swine upon Muslims while they were in the Eid prayer ground, to mock and ridicule them, and then they followed this with... ¶
Page 919Following this was an attack on Muslims that claimed the lives of five hundred, excluding the wounded and missing (1). ¶
During the partition of Pakistan from India, the pagan Hindus exterminated nearly five million Muslims as they migrated from India to Pakistan (2). ¶
And when Mujib—the devil—the leader of the Bengalis, wanted to separate East Pakistan from West Pakistan, the pagan Hindus sided with this agent and fought the battle against Pakistan, inflicting a disgraceful defeat upon it, until they succeeded in their goal of separating East Pakistan—currently Bangladesh—from West Pakistan. ¶
Despite all these crimes and tragedies, most countries counted as Islamic maintain friendly and cooperative relations with that pagan state, and the countries of the Islamic world generally provide it with limitless economic aid and political support at a time when the government of India is fighting Muslims both inside and outside India. ¶
Inside India, this 'national' government persecutes Muslims and deprives them even of their simplest political and social rights, despite its lip service to democracy. But in any case, it is like Arab democracy, for it is a slogan without substance and a name without a reality, just as is the case with Arab democracy in the concept of Arab leaders. ¶
Outside India, the Indian government stands in the position of a loyal friend to the state of the Jews in Palestine. The Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Siyasa reported in its issue dated August 28, 1980, regarding a secret deal between India and Israel, according to which India is supplying [Israel]. ¶

Page 920supplying Israel with spare parts for its tanks. If this is what the idolatrous government of India is doing to Muslims in India and outside of it, then what have the countries that identify as Islamic offered to the Muslims of India? And how have the countries that count themselves as Islamic punished the Indian government for its dealings with the Zionists? Is the answer not 'nothing' in both cases? This means there is neither loyalty (walaya) nor enmity (mu'ada) for the sake of Allah among the rulers of Islamic countries. Have our religion and our brothers in India become insignificant to us? Or have Palestine and the Al-Aqsa Mosque become insignificant to us, such that we have forgotten our enemies and those among the idolaters who stand with our enemies? There is no power and no strength except through Allah. ¶
Eighth: Comoros: It is a group of islands with a population estimated at about eight hundred thousand people. It gained nominal independence in 1975 AD, and thereafter named itself the 'Islamic Republic of Comoros.' This is a name without substance, intended only to deceive Muslims abroad and exploit their naivety to obtain loans and economic benefits from them. As for the internal situation, everything runs contrary to Islam and the desires of the Muslims. The head of the regime in these islands brought in seven thousand French mercenaries to protect his regime and support him in suppressing the Muslim people internally, even rewarding his French guards with nominal marriages to Muslim women (1). This is something no one has done before—to grant a disbeliever guardianship (wilayah) over a Muslim woman—a matter upon which there is a consensus of prohibition among all Muslims, as previously discussed (2). ¶
This republic, which calls itself Islamic, forces people to work during the time of Friday prayer and observes Sunday as a holiday; yet, its representatives are welcomed in Islamic countries. ¶
